Event description: In the last 20 years, statistics have shown that the amount of female business owners has increased by 114%. Over the past four years, the number of startups with at least one female founding member grew by approximately 6% – from 22% in 2017 to 28% in 2020. In this SheScales webinar, “Celebrating Female Founders,” we will hear directly from female founders about their journeys to success, along with offering any advice they would give to their younger selves. This will be an interactive session with time allotted for questions and discussion.

About the speakers:

Pilaar Terry

Pilaar Terry has nearly 20 years of entertainment PR and marketing experience under her belt. Prior to MCBC, she launched an independent PR and marketing consultancy in 2018. She has also worked at top-tier global agencies including Edelman, FleishmanHillard, PMK-BNC, The Marketing Arm and United Entertainment Group, representing more than 100+ worldwide brands. She is a University of Southern California alum with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism, and a proud member of the USC Annenberg School of Communications & Journalism Advisory Board. In her free time, she actively mentors BIPOC students, recent graduates and young professionals.
